What do successful people have in common?

Being an entrepreneur you need to have courage and belief in yourself.

What did it take to have the courage to believe in myself? To sculpt a life of high achievement and success, believing in myself and my ability was the crux of founding a company and turning over 6 figures.

Where have you ever seen a successful person who hasn’t had the confidence to push through and keep going? Examples like, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Shaquille O’Neal – they wouldn’t have gotten very far without believing in themselves.  This doesn’t mean that they didn’t have setbacks or struggles throughout the process. In fact, their determination to keep trying over and over again was the key to their success – their burning desire to do what they loved to do and not listening to their inner critic.

This is the sort of mentality that I in-still in myself every day. As soon as I wake up, I set out to do whatever it takes to get me closer to my goal.

Having this level of belief in yourself can be hard, especially if you’ve experienced a massive fail. But what I realised is that my failures have led me to my massive accomplishments and breakthroughs.

My belief is the thing that’s created a vision – A vision so big that most people don’t even give a shit if you hit a pot-holes along the way.  I’m well on my way to get where I need to go.

Count your wins…

If you’re ever feeling shit and like nothings going the way you imagined – step back and count your wins.

Our brains somehow always remember the negative more than the positive.  We are too wrapped up in our heads and focus on the losses.

Get tougher with yourself and your thoughts by breaking the toxic cycle and bringing yourself down. Capturing your wins will boost you back up and give you a sense of accomplishment, that you’ve completed some incredible things and set your sights higher on bigger goals for the future.

You’re a champion! So talk to yourself like you’re one…

Thinking positive and empowering thoughts is different to talking to yourself.  Talking to yourself like a champion instantly reconditions your thought process. Think about it for a sec… if you were a fighting coach, would you go up to them ‘you’re a failure’, ‘you can’t do this’? No! You’re there to tell them ‘not to give up’, ‘they’ve got the skills to win the fight’.

Do you get where I’m going with this? Talk to yourself the same way. No-one else is going to make you have confidence… YOU have to do the work and give yourself those talks to keep you motivated and focussed.

I’m a firm believer that if you can take massive leaps and bounds – if only you had the courage to believe in yourself! The video content used in the 7 day challenge in my “Personal Power Override” Program talks about changing your inner game, how to up-skill yourself, increase your confidence, belief in yourself whilst developing a mindset to success – not only in life but in business.

These are the very principles that I follow for my own personal and professional development.

Having first hand experience has really opened my eyes as to how important self awareness is in our professional and personal lives.

“You are essentially who you create yourself to be and all that occurs in your life is the result of your own making”.  – Stephen Richards

So you see, YOU create yourself – no one else. To believe in yourself might be a struggle you’re in today, but if you keep reinforcing yourself with the right kind of self-talk and determination, that’s what will give you the courage and strength you need for tomorrow.
